All AWS Console Features and Outgoing Email Blocked by Exploit, Cannot Contact AWS Support

-2

A couple days ago I received hundreds of emails from AWS support saying that Abuse was detected.

When I logged into AWS using my root user (with MFA enabled) I found that all the features in the console have API Errors and Access Denied messages due to my root user's permissions being changed.. I can no longer view my EC2 servers, IAM details, Billing, or even open a Support ticket.

What's worse is that I cannot even respond back to AWS support emails to get help because this exploit has disabled all outgoing email from my root user email hosted by AWS... and when I try to contact AWS Support using a different email I'm told they cannot help because the email doesn't match the account... also, I can't change the email in the Console because of the new lack of permission my root user has in AWS.

How can I fix this? It seems like I NEED AWS support. How can I contact AWS directly and prove I own this account so they will help fix it?

You can open a support ticket via the AWS Support Center or directly within your AWS Management Console, depending on your support plan.

If you do not have one you can try it via https://support.aws.amazon.com/#/contacts/one-support?formId=contactUs

  • I've tried opening multiple tickets over the past few days using this form, but when AWS Support contacts me back they say they can't help because the email I submitted the ticket with doesn't match my root email... and when I use the root email to submit the ticket then I can't reply back to AWS Support emails because the permissions are now preventing all outgoing mail from this address.
