Insufficient capacity error while trying to create on-demand p4d instance

0

Hello,

For more than five days now, we have been getting an "insufficient capacity" error while trying to launch an on-demand p4d instance. We have already tried to change the zone (Ohio, Virginia) but are still getting the same error. We are not sure that the issue is really due to insufficient capacity because it generally does not last so long (more than 5 days that we are unable to create a VM). Before that, we got the same error with an existing VM while trying to start it.

Can someone please tell me any other action I should take? Do you think I can get assistance from AWS members to correct such errors?

Thanks,

Stella

Occasionally, demand for certain instance types can be so high that AWS does not have sufficient capacity at the moment you request it. I tried launching the p4d.24xlarge in both Ohio and Virginia regions at the time of writing this answer and I faced the Insufficient Capacity exception too, across different AZs.

You might have to consider purchasing Reserved Instances if you want the greatest likelihood that the specific instance type will be available to you in your preferred AZ whenever you request it.
