AWS Amplify & Cloudflare DNS Issues

0

I have a site up and running on AWS amplify, but I keep running in to DNS issues.

I have all the right settings on my DNS provider Cloudflare, but I think the issue is that I can't set an ANAME record. Cloudflare only allows A records or uses flattened CNAME records. As AWS Amplify doesn't have a fixed IP address for my site, I've set up my DNS in Cloudflare with a flattened CNAME record. However, I think this is causing the Domain Activation in AWS Amplify to fail. It runs for a few days, and then fails and then my website is unaccessible with an origin DNS error.

I've tried to get my Domain Activation finalised a few times over the last week and it fails every time.

Unfortunately I can't move my DNS hosting over to AWS Route 53 as it doesn't accept .ai domain addresses, so I'm not sure how I can solve this issue.

Has anyone else come across this problem and found a solution or a work-around?

Thank you - that is helpful. I think the issue was having the records proxied in Cloudflare, so now I've turned that off I'm hoping the domain will be verified.

Looks like Dillon Lara has found a way to make it work. Check out his entry that provides step-by-step instructions on how to set this up: https://dillonlara115.medium.com/how-to-connect-a-subdomain-on-cloudflare-to-aws-amplify-5c79415faca

Hope this helps!
