Hi,

To have a global view on how to monitor best AWS Mediaconnect services, I'd suggest to read this very detailled blog post https://aws.amazon.com/blogs/media/services-and-tools-for-monitoring-video-workflows/

Mediaconnect provides lots of CW metrics for efficient monitoring. The ones related to your needs are:

  1. https://docs.aws.amazon.com/mediaconnect/latest/ug/monitor-with-cloudwatch-metrics-flow-health.html
  2. https://docs.aws.amazon.com/mediaconnect/latest/ug/monitor-with-cloudwatch-metrics-source-health.html
  3. https://docs.aws.amazon.com/mediaconnect/latest/ug/monitor-with-cloudwatch-metrics-output-health.html

Then you can create CloudWatch events to monitor health and trigger actions for you: https://docs.aws.amazon.com/mediaconnect/latest/ug/monitoring-with-cloudwatch-events.html

Those events can be processed in many different ways: https://docs.aws.amazon.com/AmazonCloudWatch/latest/events/WhatIsCloudWatchEvents.html

Best, Didier

There are some fast 'Dashboard Creator' scripts here for MediaConnect, MediaLive and more: https://aws-blogs-prod.amazon.com/media/cs-quick-and-easy-media-services-dashboards/

You can have dashboards working in less than 3 minutes.
