Use a Route53 registered domain with another hosting service

0

Hello, I have a registered domain in my Route53 AWS account and I want to use it with another hosting service, I'm thinking about Hostinger (WordPress hosting).

Is it possible? If yes, please, could you address me on how to achieve this goal? I read some articles online and it seems that I have to change the NS servers of my registered domain, but I also read about someone who did it but it is not working.

Thanks, Matteo.

Hello Matteo,

You registered your Domain in "AWS Route 53 Domains". Now it depends on what you want to do.

If you want to use Hostinger DNS for record-management of your domain, you have to change the nameserver-records from your purchased domain in "aws route 53 domains" to the nameservers of hostinger, see: https://www.hostinger.com/tutorials/how-to-point-domain-to-hostinger.

The other option is to create a hosted zone of your purchased domain in "AWS Route 53 Hosted Zones", and then create an "a-record" or "cname-record" pointing to the public IP or fqdn of your server hosted in Hostinger.
