This error can occur for a number of reasons, the best way to troubleshot this is to login using your email address and take a look at the Cloudtrail logs to see if you can identify why the login is failing. The Its not you its us message is quite generic and does not always indicate an AWS problem.

You did not provide much details. What guide are you following, what IdP are you integrating with. You can log in as the root user - seems like there's no need to panic really.
