Amazon Transcribe Pricing

0

Hi all, I am struggling to understand how pricing works for Amazon Transcribe.

  1. Is Amazon Transcribe able to process both audio files (for batch processing) and audio stream?
  2. For standard batch, if my audio file duration is 60 minutes but only 2 mins contains recognisable speech, will I be charged for 2 or 60 minutes?
  3. Similarly, for standard streaming, if I stream my audio into Amazon Transcribe for 60 minutes but only 2 mins contains recognisable speech, will I be charged for 2 or 60 minutes? Thanks!

Hi,

  1. Yes, streaming can be converted in real time by Transcribe: https://docs.aws.amazon.com/transcribe/latest/dg/streaming.html

  2. Transcribe fee is based on duration of the media / file stream not on the size of the content than can be transcribed. Basically, because the compute resources needed to transcribe an empty media file are same as resources needed for a file with true speaker(s).

Best,

Didier
