Unable to create new users on Amazon Connect - The resource couldn't be found or the input format is incorrect.

Why do I get this error when trying to create a new user? I get this every time:

In answer to my own question -- this issue is due to the new interface. When clicking 'use old interface' from the user management page on Amazon Connect, and following the process to add new users there, all seems to work ok.
