restart of greengrass deletes my tls files (certs)

0

I have a green grass core deployed and running, but any time I restart it with the following (this is what i use to provision or just start after), it keeps deleting pem, key, and crt files. Any ideas why?

    cmd: list = [
        "java",
        f"-Droot={self.ggc_instance_path}",
        "-Dlog.store=FILE",
        "-Dlog.level=INFO",
        "-jar", greengrass_jar_path,
        "--start", "true",
        "--aws-region", self.aws_region,
        "--thing-name", self.core_device_name,
        "--thing-group-name", self.core_device_thing_deployment_group_name,
        "--tes-role-alias-name", self.core_device_thing_role_alias_name,
        "--thing-policy-name", self.core_device_thing_policy_name,
        "--init-config", config_file_path,
        "--deploy-dev-tools", self.deploy_dev_tools,
         "--component-default-user", f"{self.ggc_core_user}:{self.ggc_core_user_group}"
    ]

    if provision:
        # Include provisioning parameters
        cmd.extend([
            "--provision", "true"
        ])
    else:
        # Only include minimal parameters for starting
        cmd.extend([
            "--provision", "false"
        ])
  • how do you distinguish between --provision true/false?

  • it's in m other code of my startup script, but i figured out that it is because I am running in docker and it's docker that does not persist those files, I need to store them in a volume.

I Found it was my bad..... files are not stored in a volume on the host, so they are not persisted. The rest of the files are there due to being part of the greengrass installer which is in my docker file.
