I did follow these steps. When I got to the portion that says "Restore an expired domain or Restore a deleted domain", I used "Restore an expired domain". Instead, I got around this by entering "Restore a deleted domain", and entered only the domain and account number and this allowed me to create the case. Earlier this morning, it kept trying to herd me to buy a support plan. I guess persistence and guessing pay off. I hope they update this to be a little less trial and error to get to submitting a case. Thanks for your response.
Hi,
To recover the expired domain, please follow the steps mentioned in the docs [1].
Furthermore, you can search and verify the current registrar at [2].
