Increase Service

0

I requested to increase my vCPU from 0 to 48, and it was approved. However, when I tried to launch a g5.xlarge instance, I received the following error message: ‘You have requested more vCPU capacity than your current vCPU limit of 0 allows for the instance bucket that the specified instance type belongs to.’ Why did I receive this error when my request to increase the number of vCPUs was accepted?

Did you ask that limit increase under your Running On-Demand G and VT instances quota? What is the applied quota in your screen when you visit this page for the same region where you are launching the g5.xlarge:https://us-east-1.console.aws.amazon.com/servicequotas/home/services/ec2/quotas/L-DB2E81BA

  • I asked under All G and VT Spot Instance Requests. Under Running On-Demand G and VT instances, the Applied quota value is 0! Should I ask under Running On-Demand G and VT instance?

  • Yes, these are different buckets.

  • Don’t forget to raise in the region where your launching the instances.

  • Is that 48 vCPU reflected in the link I provided above?
