Is it normal for DLM created AMIs to be 17 minutes late to the scheduled time?

I'm using DLM (Data Lifecycle Manager) to create an AMI for an instance every day at 3am, but the resulting AMIs are being created 17 minutes too late (creation date). I've configured my policy to reboot the instance before creating the snapshot. Is this normal behavior?

Yes.

From the docs: "Subsequent snapshot or AMI creation operations start within one hour of their scheduled time"
