[Announcement] Announcing Amazon Elastic File System Replication

0

Starting today, you can use Amazon Elastic File System (Amazon EFS) Replication to keep an up-to-date copy of your file system in a second AWS Region or AZ of your choice. Amazon EFS Replication is designed to meet a recovery point objective (RPO) and recovery time objective (RTO) of minutes, enabling you to meet your business continuity and compliance requirements.

Amazon EFS is designed for 11 9s of durability and high availability. However, organizations in regulated industries are often subject to compliance requirements that mandate storing secondary data copies several hundred miles away from the original. Using Amazon EFS Replication, you can create a replica of your file system in a few clicks without having to manage any infrastructure. You can enable the feature using the Amazon EFS console, AWS CLI, and APIs on an existing file system.

Amazon EFS Replication is available in AWS US East (N. Virginia), US East (Ohio), US West (N. California), US West (Oregon), Asia Pacific (Mumbai), Asia Pacific (Osaka), Asia Pacific (Seoul), Asia Pacific (Singapore), Asia Pacific (Sydney), Asia Pacific (Tokyo), Canada (Central), Europe (Frankfurt), Europe (Ireland), Europe (London), Europe (Paris), Europe (Stockholm), South America (São Paulo), and GovCloud Regions. To learn more, read the AWS News Blog and the EFS documentation. To get started, configure replication for existing file systems in just a few clicks using the Amazon EFS Console.
