Will A Deprecated Gateway Stop Working?

0

Is a deprecated cached volume storage gateway (using local VM appliance) going to stop working, or will it just become unsupported?

Thanks

Hello,

I'm Mike with the Storage Gateway team.

Any deprecated gateway (cached or tape) will continue to work after the deprecation date. The gateway will just stop receiving updates for both security and feature releases that the newer gateways will receive. Support for the deprecated gateways is still available as well, but keep in mind that should any code research or fixes be required, we are going to recommend deploying the fully supported gateway as the fix. So I would suggest scheduling your migration to the new gateway image at a time of your choosing rather than get in a situation where you have to deploy a new gateway to resolve a critical issue.

Please let me know if you have any more questions.

Thanks for the rapid response. We will be migrating to a newer gateway ASAP.
