AWS DMS: unable to select the RDS for engine Oracle

0

In DMS, when creating either a Data Provider or Endpoint (source), my Oracle RDS (19c, Standard Two, CDB) is not visible as a choice. A different RDS (Postgres) from same VPC, same subnets (private), same security groups, same AZ (eu-central-1), is visible and accessible. If I enter the connection manually, then DMS still fails to connect during Schema Conversion. What else I tried without success: explicit IAM policy/role for DMS & DB's ARN; editing the security group (for all IPv4 TCP and my custom port).

  • I didn't try yet to access it from the desktop SCT client because even if it works there, I won't be able to create the endpoint and migration task for the data.

It works for me.

AWS DMS supports the following Oracle database editions:

  • Oracle Enterprise Edition
  • Oracle Standard Edition
  • Oracle Express Edition
  • Oracle Personal Edition

  • Mine is "Oracle Standard Edition Two (CDB)", but still, "Single-tenant configuration". I will try with a normal DB

  • Made a new DB, not CDB this time, this one is visible in both sections. And I also changed the port to default 1521 to be sure. Thx!
