Workdocs Install Fails in New Workspace

0

I am experimenting with Workspaces and WorkDocs. I have a standard workspace installed. When I click on the icon to install Workdocs, the installer appears to run for a few seconds and the install window goes away. There are no error messages.

Workdocs is not installed. When I look in the Event log, I see that the MSI installer failed with error 1603. I understand that this may mean that I don't have permissions to install apps, however I am running as administrator and am able to install other apps.

I am running the Workspace in a public subnet with AWS Simple Directory. I have IP restricted to my home IP. The workspace is a standard config with 4Gb.

Suggestions on how I can proceed?

Hi,

If your Amazon WorkSpaces administrator has enabled it, you can integrate your WorkSpace with Amazon WorkDocs. WorkDocs is enabled on the directory level during registration.

You must be invited to join an Amazon WorkDocs organization. Your Amazon WorkDocs administrator creates an organization and invites you and other users to join.

Once you join, you can access Amazon WorkDocs using the Web Client or using Amazon WorkDocs Drive.

  • You must be an administrator on your device to install Amazon WorkDocs Drive.
  • Amazon WorkDocs Drive is available for 64-bit versions of Windows 7, Windows 8, and Windows 10, plus Windows Server 2008 R2 SP1, Windows Server 2012 R2, and Windows Server 2016.
  • Amazon WorkDocs Drive for Windows also requires Microsoft .NET Framework 4.6.2 or later.
