You cannot recover a deleted hosted zone. You now need to create a new hosted zone which you already seemed to have done. Now take the NS records from the hosted zone and update that in your domain registrar, which seems to be Route 53 itself. This will be in the 'Registered Domains' section in Route 53. Add other DNS records that you need and wait for the records to propagate.

Unfortunately, it's not possible to directly recover a deleted hosted zone in Amazon Route 53 or recreate one with the exact same name servers as before. When you delete a hosted zone, it's a permanent action that cannot be undone. Creating a new hosted zone, even with the same domain name, will result in Route 53 assigning a new set of four name servers that are typically different from the previous ones.

To resolve your DNS resolution issue, you'll need to follow these steps:

  1. Create a new hosted zone in Route 53 for your domain.

  2. Set up your DNS records in this new hosted zone, recreating all the necessary records (A, CNAME, MX, etc.) that were in your previous configuration.

  3. Update the name servers for your domain to match the new ones provided by Route 53 for your newly created hosted zone. You can do this in the Route 53 console under the domain's registration settings.

  4. Wait for the DNS changes to propagate, which can take up to 48 hours, although it often happens much faster.

It's crucial to update the domain's name servers to those of the new hosted zone to ensure your domain remains accessible on the internet. If you're having trouble updating the name servers or if the changes are not taking effect, you may need to contact AWS Support for further assistance.

In the future, it's advisable to be cautious when deleting hosted zones, as this action can potentially lead to domain accessibility issues if not handled carefully.

hello

  1. Get new NS records: Go to Route 53 > Hosted Zones, find the new NS records.
  2. Update domain NS records: Go to Route 53 > Registered Domains, update NS to match the new hosted zone.
  3. Wait for DNS propagation (can take up to 48 hours).
