Route domain to route 53

0

Hi I have my company domain hosted by another service provider. I need to move some of those urls to route 53. These are all aws ec2 instances. I have my domain "example.com" hosted at "company.com". i have A records like "qa.example.com" i want to move to route 53 but still need to keep my domain "example.com" at "company.com". Just a quick background i have lots of IOT devices all over the country and they connect to "qa.example.com" so its not easy to change to new dns name.

  • i want to move A records to route53 and keep the domain on other service provider.

You can create a Sub Domain Record (NS Records) in company.com in your domain example.com for qa.example.com to point to a NEW Public Route53 Zone in Route53 called qa.example.com. Then you create a APEX record for the domain in Route53 i.e. qa.example.com to point to a cloudfront/ALB etc.

This would work for you
