Can we enable mutual TLS with RDS mysql.8 database instance.

We have RDS instance with mysql 8. I have eneabled SSL-mode as REQUIRED and using default AWS provided root certificate 2019. But, we would like to improve the security in such a way that we need to enable mutual TLS by creating client certificate signed from root CA.

Is it possible in current RDS mysql 8.0 version. Since, I don't see uploading custom root certificate in RDS instance.

No, there is no workaround. You can only do this on an EC2 instance if you install MySQL there.
