When are r7g RDS instances going to be available in reserved form?

According to the official post about gen7 ARM RDS instances (https://aws.amazon.com/blogs/aws/new-graviton3-based-general-purpose-m7g-and-memory-optimized-r7g-amazon-ec2-instances), r7g instances should be available in select regions (e.g. Ohio), and all the forms (including on-demand and reserved).

However, the post states wrong information.

When I check the official MySQL pricing page (https://aws.amazon.com/rds/mysql/pricing), r7g instances are available (checked on Ohio and another region), only in on-demand form. In fact, when I try to create an r7g instance, I can't.

Since I'm close to the reservation renewal date, it's important for me to know if those instances are going to be made available (for reservation) any time soon.

Are r7g instances going to be available for reservation? Based on educated guesses (e.g. past history) are they going to be released soon?

Thank you for reaching out. I understand that you want to reserve r7g instance class for RDS MySQL in Ohio and other regions.

Reserved instances for R7g and M7g instance classes for RDS will be available in the first half of May.

I will recommend you to follow the below URL for the recent releases : AWS recent announcements page: https://aws.amazon.com/new/ Blogs: https://aws.amazon.com/blogs/aws/

As always, Happy Cloud Computing.
