Is it possible to connect IPv6 instances from my local machine?

0

Hello team,

I have a EC instance with IPV6 address. I knew we can connect this instance if our local network support IPV6. We have one more option that EC2 EIC to connect the EC2 instance through instance id. Is it possible to connect or RDP to Ec2 instance from IPV4 network (that is my local network) to IPV6 EC2 instance?

Hello.

If your ISP supports IPv6, I think you can SSH or RDP to EC2 using an IPv6 address.
Make sure your global IP, not your local IP, supports IPv6.

  • But from IPV4 to IPV6 is not possible to connect RDP or SSH. Am I correct?

  • Yes, you cannot connect from IPv4 to IPv6. IPv6 communication requires an IPv6 address.

  • Thanks much
