*ERROR UPLOADING FILE* on Quicksight

0

Hi, everyone!

I run a dashboard on QuickSight that uses XLSX files, and I upload those files every day. However, since last week, I've been having difficulties with this task. When I try to upload a file, QuickSight returns "ERROR UPLOADING FILE." This issue only occurs with this specific folder; I can upload files to other folders without any trouble.

My team and I have tried everything possible, but nothing seems to work. We've already checked the file size, user permissions, and even tried creating custom SQL queries on SPICE, but the problem persists. QuickSight doesn't provide any additional information about this error, such as an error code.

Does anyone know about this error? Is there a possible solution? Or is creating another folder the only option? (In this case, we would lose time and the link used by our dashboard's consumers, which is around 400 users.)

I understand you're experiencing difficulties uploading XLSX files to a specific folder in Amazon QuickSight, receiving an "ERROR UPLOADING FILE" message without additional error details. This is a frustrating situation, especially given the impact on your dashboard and its 400 users. While the exact cause isn't clear from the information provided, there are several potential reasons and troubleshooting steps you can try:

  1. File permissions: Even though you've checked user permissions, double-check that there haven't been any recent changes to the IAM roles or policies associated with QuickSight or the specific S3 bucket/folder you're trying to upload to.

  2. File corruption: Try creating a new XLSX file with a small amount of data to see if it uploads successfully. This can help determine if the issue is with the specific files or the folder itself.

  3. QuickSight dataset limits: Ensure you haven't reached any QuickSight dataset limits, such as the maximum number of datasets allowed in your account.

  4. S3 bucket policy: If you're uploading to an S3 bucket, review the bucket policy to ensure it still allows QuickSight to access and write to the specific folder.

  5. QuickSight service issues: Check the AWS Service Health Dashboard to see if there are any ongoing issues with QuickSight in your region.

  6. Browser cache: Try clearing your browser cache or using a different browser to rule out any client-side issues.

  7. File naming convention: Ensure your file names don't contain any special characters that might cause issues during upload.

If none of these steps resolve the issue, you may need to contact AWS Support for further assistance. They can provide more detailed error logs and help identify the root cause of the problem.

As a last resort, creating a new folder might be necessary, but before doing so, consider reaching out to AWS Support to explore all possible solutions and potentially avoid disrupting your existing dashboard setup and user links.
