can I have aws simple email service on my own email client? like thunderbird or etc.

2

Hello, please, I watched several tutorials and they are all obviously old and some things have changed and I still can't find my way around here. I have purchased a domain and I would like to create 3-4 emails for it, which could be put into an email client such as thunderbird or default windows/ios email clients.

I am not an expert in this, so if someone could write to me and explain in short some simple procedure that I will need and whether it is even possible or according to which instructions I can do it, I would be very grateful.

Have a nice day

Amazon Simple Email Service (SES) is an email platform that provides an easy, cost-effective way for you to send and receive email using your own email addresses and domains.

When you use Amazon SES to receive mail, you can develop software solutions such as email autoresponders, email unsubscribe systems, and applications that generate customer support tickets from incoming emails.

Amazon SES is not intended to be used as an email server. It has no POP3 or IMAP capabilities for your email clients to connect and download the emails. When you receive emails using SES, you have to implement custom rules that describe how the service should process the incoming emails (store them in an S3 bucket, call an AWS Lambda function, and so on). You can read more in the Developer Guide.

Instead, you could consider Amazon WorkMail - a secure, managed business email and calendar service with support for existing desktop and mobile email client applications. Amazon WorkMail uses Amazon SES under the hood to send all outgoing email.
