can't save as template when using Quicksight Analyses

0

Hi,

I tried to create template for my QuickSight Analyses, but I can't see that option exist in the dropdown mean under File. I checked I am ADMIN role, and using Enterprise QuickSight edition. I should have enough dataset access since my role to the data show OWNER. Is there a reason why I can't see save as template option in Analyses?

Thanks

Hello,

Greetings from AWS!

From you question asked, I understand that, you tried to create template for QuickSight Analyses, but you are unable to that option in the dropdown menu under File. Also, you are logged in using an ADMIN role on Enterprise QuickSight edition. Also, you are owner of the dataset but still you are unable to see save as template option in Analyses.

Regarding this, I would like to inform you that, save analysis as template option is not available from console. This It can be done only programmatically using AWS QuickSight API [a] or CLI [2]. Please check reference section for command related information.

Templates are only accessible via the QuickSight APIs. Once, you have created them via the CreateTemplate action, you can list them using the ListTemplates [3] action and use for example the CreateDashboard [4] or CreateAnalysis [5] actions to create a new dashboard/analysis based on the template.

I hope this helps.

Thank you!
