waiting for billing to allow SNS - but there's a catch

First time posting - here goes:

  1. a news piece created unprecedented demand for our app and we were inundated with demand
  2. our developer had set limit of 100USD for SNS
  3. SO app cld not be verified by over 3000 users - v frustrating
  4. we immediately upgraded to business to access 24/7 help
  5. advised this is a billing issue
  6. which does not do 24/7
  7. so how can we increase limit to 500USD asap without waiting for billing people to get to the ticket
  8. why is there not an ability under these circumstances to have an alert sent so this unfortunate scenario doesn't play out - AI can help? Yes i know :"we" set the limit but does not appear on out billing summary
  9. please help!

Spend quotas can be specified for an AWS account and for individual messages, and the quotas apply only to the cost of sending SMS messages.

  1. You need to go to the Service Quotas Dashboard in your account :- https://console.aws.amazon.com/servicequotas/home
  2. Search for SNS
  3. Then Find SMS Message Spending in USD
  4. Click, Request increase at account level
  5. Enter the amount of spend to increase to and submit

Increases can be increased quite quickly once submitted.
