Quick - Automate Workflow Question

0

I am trying to build a simple workflow that would interrogate a spreadsheet (Quip) and identify tasks that require follow-ups and email those owners. The simple logic I want to implement is any task that has a last update date of > = 7 days is a candidate for an update. The Quick Suite Workflow fails after numerous attempts to provide it the quip link (completely async) or adding a login step (human in the loop). What are some good resources I can use to solve this problem. I would be more than happy to work with the product team and provide feedback to realize my use case. I've worked with many competing workflow products including power automate, zapier etc. so should be a quick study with the right support.

Based on your workflow automation needs, you're looking to build a solution that checks a Quip spreadsheet for tasks that haven't been updated in 7+ days and then emails the task owners.

Amazon Quick Automate would be the most appropriate tool for this use case within the Quick Suite, as it's designed for complex business processes that involve multiple steps and system integrations. Quick Automate allows you to transform business processes into multi-agent workflows using natural language descriptions or by uploading process documentation.

For your specific implementation challenges, here are some approaches:

  1. Human-in-the-loop capabilities: Quick Automate supports human-in-the-loop steps, which could help with the authentication issues you're experiencing with Quip. This would allow a person to handle the login step when needed.

  2. Third-party integrations: Quick Suite integrates with popular third-party applications, and while Quip isn't specifically mentioned in the available information, you might be able to use one of the 50+ action integrations available through Amazon Q Business plugins.

  3. Custom connectors: If a direct Quip integration isn't available, you might need to explore creating a custom connector or using an intermediary service that can access your Quip data.

  4. Alternative approach: Consider exporting the Quip data to a format that's more easily accessible by Quick Automate, such as storing it in Amazon S3 and then processing it.

For additional support, you could:

  • Review the Amazon Quick Suite documentation
  • Explore the Amazon Q Business plugins that might support your workflow
  • Contact AWS Support to discuss your specific use case
  • Consider participating in preview programs for new workflow automation capabilities

Since you mentioned you'd be happy to work with the product team, reaching out to AWS Support would be a good first step to provide feedback on your specific use case and get guidance on the best implementation approach.
