video and audio with the aws webrtc sdk

I was able to get the code on the amazon-kinesis-video-streams-webrtc-sdk-c to work with video. I also have a microphone. How can I merge in the audio as well?

When using the sample applications provided by the Amazon Kinesis Video Streams C WebRTC SDK, it depends on which sample you are starting from.

If using the kvsWebrtcClientMasterGstSample sample application, the SDK provides arguments to toggle the type of media you want to stream. Those arguments are documented in the README of the Github repository, and the valid values for the mediaType argument are audio-video or video-only.

As a more complete example, after fully installing all of the required dependencies, and compiling the SDK and sample applications, the run command would look like this if you wanted to attempt to use your camera and microphone: ./samples/kvsWebrtcClientMasterGstSample <channelName> audio-video

To see how these arguments are used in the sample application, please review the source code:

  • I have a microphone chip on the Raspberry Pi. I can record from it using the arecord command, but I need to specify what device it is. It seems as this uses gstreamer, but I am not sure how the right audio device is selected
