Is S3 Storage not included in the list of supported services covered by the $300 credit?

Hello, I recently received a $300 AWS credit. However, as I was reviewing the complete list of services, I noticed that I cannot locate S3 storage among the supported options. Could you kindly clarify if it is not possible to utilize or redeem the $300 specifically for Basic S3 storage (not S3 Glacier)?

Check the list for Amazon Simple Storage Service instead of just plain S3.

  • That's a good question! So if you apply the credits today (the 13th of the month) and your invoice is generated on the 31st, will the credits be applied to the whole invoice, or just the usage since you applied them on the 13th (so you still have to pay for the 1st to the 12th)?

    I don't know the answer to that, my guess is it would be applied to the whole invoice (but I don't work for AWS so don't rely on that).     The other part of your question, whether to redeem now or wait until you're in production, is up to you. $300 is $300 and (unless it's somewhere in the Ts &Cs) it should be no concern of AWS's when it gets redeemed.

    What will happen after redemming them? I mean, Will it start spending right away or I should only redeem them when in production? Also I can't seem to find my promo code in the email or anywhere.

  • Okay, Now I understand the concept and I think I should only redeem them when in need or at start of the month to avoid any tension in bills. As I also have 5GB free tier for 1 year so I will redeem whenever I cover 70% of the free tier storage for now (In production). Thanks for explaining clean and simple. And One more thing, I didn't receive the promotion code to redeem the credits. I even provided my card details to get the code (As It is mentioned in ToS of credits) , Do you have any info on that one?
