We are experiencing the same issue since June 10th 7PM CET. Our monitoring checks the SMTP authentication every minute and we get errors at least once per hour. SES is in eu-central1 and is set to production mode. Mail volume is low.

We also started experiencing this on June 10th 21pm CET in eu-central-1 We get errors randomly. 1 in every ~20 emails fails with the mentioned error message.
We have the same problem beginning (our jobs are strating at 00:00, so it could be that the problem occurred even earlier) on June 11th 00:00 CET in eu-central-1. Also occurring randomly.
