Amazon SNS Topic 'Pending' - not receiving confirmation email

0

Dear Forum Members,

We have created an Amazon SNS topic for bounce and complaint handling and we believe it is configured correctly but it is still showing 'pending'.

When we request 'confirmation', we do not receive an email with the confirmation code.

Would anybody have an idea why?

We have followed the following guide: https://fluentcrm.com/docs/bounce-handler-with-amazon-ses/

The only part where we have deviated from this guide is, that instead of creating two new identities, we have used the already verified 'domain' and 'email' identities that we use for sending the emails in Amazon SES.

Many thanks for your help with this.

Kind regards,

You won’t receive an email because it’s a HTTPS subscription. The subscription confirmation is sent to the endpoint as a POST request. FluentCRM should know how to process such request and confirm the subscription.

Dear Goenning,

Many thanks for your reply and I will pass this on to FluentCRM.

Would you know why the 'subscription' within the Amazon SNS 'topic' is still showing 'pending'?

Many thanks for your help with this.

  • It's pending because the application did not confirm it, it's difficult to know, maybe an error happened inside FluentCRM? maybe the URL is wrong? But don't expect an email because you won't see one :)

Dear Goenning,

Our hosting company has been able to resolve the matter over the weekend.

When we pasted the Bounce handling URL from FluentCRM into a browser, we saw an error message ‘403 access denied’. In other words, it had to be a security issue which led us to check firewalls and .htaccess. In the end, in turned out to be a redirect in .htaccess that was the cause.

Many thanks for your help.

Kind regards,
