AWS Event rule cross region & pricing

0

Hi Team,

I have a confusion in event rule. I have created a rule for EC2 state change notification "any state" and "any instance" in US region. I wanted to know I have if instance goes down in other region then will it notify.

Another query is related to pricing. If there are not state changes through out the month. Do I need to pay for event rule

Hi,

I assume you are referring to events from AWS services that you want to react to with EventBridge rules. As per https://aws.amazon.com/eventbridge/pricing/ AWS default service events are free. And there are no additional charges for rules or event delivery.

Please have a look at this blog post https://aws.amazon.com/blogs/compute/introducing-cross-region-event-routing-with-amazon-eventbridge/ regarding cross-region event routing. In essence, the events are by default bound to a region but you can configure a cross-region event delivery.
