Hello.
I tried the same operation in my environment, but I could not reproduce the phenomenon.
My environment was enabled in the SSO era before IAM Identity Center, so the prerequisites may be slightly different.
Since there is a possibility that there is a bug in the UI, we recommend that you open a case with AWS Support under "Account and billing".

Does it ask you for your home region when enabling this in Virginia?
No it doesn't ask me - it just automatically routes to Virginia.

Thanks, I will try this and post the outcome here.
The guidance from AWS support was to delete the IAM Identity Center instance in Stockholm and create a new one in N. Virginia. This seems to have solved the problem. Many thanks for suggesting raising it with support.
