Unable to delete agentcore gateway openapi target

1

Posting this bug here since I am unable to create a technical support case through the aws console.

When deleting an agentcore gateway openapi target (manually in the console or terraform) it constantly fails.

I see this error in Cloudtrail and when destroying the target with terraform

Error: deleting Bedrock AgentCore Gateway Target

ID: <masked>
Cause: While waiting, unexpected state 'FAILED', wanted target ''. last error: Failed to delete search embeddings for target: 1 validation error detected. Value with
length 551 at '/keys' failed to satisfy constraint: Member must have length between 1 and 500, inclusive (Service: S3Vectors, Status Code: 400, Request ID:
<masked>) (SDK Attempt Count: 1)"

The error originates from a validation failure within the Bedrock AgentCore Gateway S3Vectors service. During the deletion process, the system attempts to remove search embeddings that contain a key string exceeding the permitted length of 500 characters. As a result, the operation cannot be completed successfully, and the target deletion terminates with the status FAILED.

Thanks for the reply!

And yes, that's correct. The problem is that there is nothing I can do to delete the gateway and this requires submitting a bug report to AWS which is not offered in the AWS Support console.

Would be great to have someone from AWS agentcore technical team to look at this issue. I have two unused gateways in my account now because they cannot be deleted.
