I found out for myself that the InvalidInput error appeared to be due to the 'Transfer lock' for the domain being set to On. After setting it to Off the change of IPS Tag was accepted.
Just make sure if your copying and pasting NAMECHEAP-INC you dont have any leading or trailing spaces

If this is the case, why does the 'Transfer Out' menu have 'Update IPS tag' as an option?
