Re-deploying an EKS cluster and losing monitoring/alerting when utilizing AWS EKS Container Insights

0

We have an EKS cluster where we are collecting AWS EKS and Kubernetes Enhanced Container Insights metrics (see: https://docs.aws.amazon.com/AmazonCloudWatch/latest/monitoring/install-CloudWatch-Observability-EKS-addon.html and https://docs.aws.amazon.com/AmazonCloudWatch/latest/monitoring/Container-Insights-metrics-EKS.html). After re-deploying the EKS cluster, the pod alerts and metrics still work. However, when we re-deploy the EKS cluster, all of our node metrics stop reporting because the node ids change. How do I remove this binding for the EKS nodes so I don't have to re-generate my alarms/monitoring after each EKS deployment?

Thanks!
