I'm answering my own question here because I just found the solution. If you aren't ready to create a SVG and host it for your BIMI record, you can create a place holder BIMI record instead.
Add the following TXT record to the domain; default._bimi with value v=BIMI1.
This stops the 'BIMI record not found or configured without default selector' recommendation from appearing.

No more than a day. What's the domain? I can check if I see the record for you.

It's olympiah.org and email is with that domain noreply@ Dreamhost is the DNS provider. Different bimi checker tools show it it set up. Yet sending a test email via SES does not show the BIMI. I'm wondering what the issue is now...Yes if you can please check! Thank you!
I can see the BIMI record, but it's more than just a placeholder - default._bimi with value v=BIMI1. All I was going to do was check the record so you could validate whether the recommendation in VDM should've gone. Nothing more. If you want more help, then check this - https://bimigroup.org/verified-mark-certificates-vmc-and-bimi/. I suspect you're missing the VMC, which is why you don't see the SVG. I haven't added a VMC for my BIMI so I can't help further with that.
Has the recommendation in VDM disappeared?

Hello, I just set up the bimi record but still see the message in recommendations. I was wondering how long it took to see changes?
