To calculate the monthly average cost for each bill-id
in the Cost Explorer graph, you can follow these steps:
-
Ensure that your resources are tagged with a key like
bill_id
and appropriate values that represent different billing identifiers. -
In the AWS Billing and Cost Management console, go to the Cost Allocation Tags section and activate the tags you want to use in Cost Explorer.
-
In Cost Explorer, set the time period for your analysis.
-
Choose Group by and select the tag key that you used for billing identifiers (e.g.,
bill_id
). This will group your costs based on the values of this tag. -
Like before, you can view the data in the graph or export it to calculate the monthly average cost for each billing identifier.
