Hi,
To extend the Gary's answer and having your comment the steps will be following:
- In Route53 create public Hosted Zone for
send.iklearning.org
. After creation you will be provided with 4x NS servers automatically assigned by AWS. - In your
iklearning.org
(wherever DNS is configured) create NS record forsend.iklearning.org
with the above 4x NS given in step 1.

The domain send.iklearning.org has no NS records available. You can only setup a subdomain for this in iklearning.org. You cant have a subdomain with a different parent domain name in DNS. You cant have mydomain.org and then a Subdomain setup for blahh.anotherdomain.com
Hi Gary, The primary domain is iklearning.org and im trying to set up an NS record for the subdomain send.iklearning.org under iklearning.org

So I need to create a hosted zone for send.iklearning.org and then another record under iklearning.org with 4 values that are provided to me by klaviyo?
Do I need to change the values in the hosted zone for send.iklearning.org to the ones provided by klaviyo like in the send NS record under the hosted zone of iklearning.org?
You need to imagine the whole process as: someone (admin of
iklearning.org
) wants to delegate you authority to maintainsend.iklearning.org
. He need to say, which DNS (controlled by you) will know (and answer) about all requestssend.iklearning.org
by pointing NS record ofsend.iklearning.org
in zoneiklearning.org
to NS servers ofsend.iklearning.org
. Exact steps in the my answer. Maybe this can help to understand concept better https://www.catchpoint.com/dns-monitoring/dns-delegation
