Blend shapes broken in EMotion? Using FBX from Maya

0

Has anyone had any luck getting blend shape animation (v 1.11) to play in the new EMotion Animation Editor? I've exported my character out of Maya 2016 (in T-pose) as an FBX. Attached is a screenshot showing which options I've checked in the FBX exporter.

I've made sure to select the character mesh and the joint hierarchy before exporting.

When exporting animations from separate scenes, keyframes are baked onto joints before export, and the Euler filter is applied. Only the joint hierarchy is selected when exporting animation FBX. Inside EMotion joint animation will play, but no blend shape animation. Not sure if this is a Lumberyard bug, or a user error in Maya.

Note: I'm still using the same skeleton setup needed for Gepetto (jx_c_root and blendWeightVertex joints)

As mentioned the morph target (blend shapes) support is not fully in yet. EMotion FX itself does support it already, but we have to integrate this into the FBX pipeline, so that we actually feed it the morph target geometry and animation data. This is why you might find see that there is Morph Target support inside EMotion FX's interfaces already, but it isn't working yet. This will come very soon though! :)
