Forgot the root user details

0

I have my IAM user credentials, but someone from the development team is using the root user account without my knowledge. They have modified the access rights of my IAM user. Now, I need to recover the details of the root user.

Please advise!

Hi. Can you login with root user? If not, you can reset password and MFA by following instruction as follows(You must know your AWS account's email address and must have access to the email account and phone number.)

  • And you will identify root user activity which modified your IAM access rights by CloudTrail.

Hi.

As long as you have access to the root user e-mail address and/or phone number you can use "Forgot password" feature to reset the password. If the root user has a MFA set (recommended) you also need access to that.

Without access to the root account e-mail address it's not possible to reset the password, this is required.
