AWS account blocked – Account reinstatement case *************** remains unassigned for over 48 hours

-1

Hello AWS Community,

I am looking for guidance on how to escalate an AWS account reinstatement case.

My AWS account is currently blocked, preventing me from launching or managing EC2 instances and using AWS services, including Amazon Q Developer/Kiro.

I opened an AWS Support case:

Case ID: ***************

The case is categorized as Account → Account Reinstatement, but it has remained Unassigned for more than 48 hours despite following up.

I understand that account reinstatement is handled by AWS Support and that the community cannot directly unblock accounts. However, I would appreciate advice on:

  1. Whether there is an official way to escalate an unassigned account reinstatement case.
  2. Whether there are any additional verification steps I should proactively complete.
  3. Whether anyone from AWS can help ensure the case reaches the appropriate Account Verification/Reinstatement team.

For context:

  • AWS promotional credits are still active on the account.
  • I can sign in to the AWS Access Portal.
  • The restriction appears to be preventing normal AWS service usage.

I am ready to provide any identity verification or documentation requested by AWS.

Thank you.

I understand how concerning it is to have your AWS account blocked and to be waiting for a response on your support case. Let me provide some guidance on how to proceed.

For account reinstatement cases, the best course of action is to continue working through the AWS Support Center at https://console.aws.amazon.com/support/. You can add additional correspondence to your existing case to provide any updates or request a status check. When adding correspondence, include any relevant details about your situation and confirm that you're ready to provide any verification documents that may be needed.

Account reinstatement cases are handled by specialized teams within AWS, and response times can vary depending on the complexity of the review required. These cases often involve security and compliance reviews that require careful examination.

To help move your case forward, you may want to:

  1. Add a follow-up message to your existing case through the Support Center, reiterating your availability to provide any needed verification or documentation
  2. Ensure you've provided complete and accurate information in your case correspondence
  3. Check that you're monitoring the email address associated with your AWS account for any communication from AWS Support

If you find that the response time doesn't meet your business needs, you may also want to review your AWS Support plan options, as different support tiers offer different response time commitments for various case severity levels.

The AWS Support team will work to address your case as quickly as possible while ensuring proper account security protocols are followed.

Hello,

I'm sorry for the concern this has caused.

I can confirm that we've received your case. Our Support team generally address cases in the order they're received.

You can rest assured they'll get back to you with an update, you'll also receive a notification once correspondence is added to your case.

  • Thank you for responding. And trust I wouldn't push this if it wasn't an emergency. I had to postpone a product demo and lost a client because of this issue and it wasn't made clear as to why the account was suspended in the first place. I am hoping to get this resolved as soon as possible because it's made demos impossible and hurting my business. Hopefully AWS team is able to sort this out, I am willing to provide any verification required
