AWS Panorama RTSP timeout

0

Hi, we are trying to use AWS Panorama with some sample streams and for some real time cameras the RTSP goes in timeout. From Panorama logs it seams there is a 10 seconds timeout after which the client closes the connection but this kind of camera can take up to 60 seconds to reply to PLAY command. Is it possible to configure this timeout in the manifest or camera configuration?

  • Can you provide more details about the camera make and model that you are testing with?

Hi,

When I started working with Panorama, I tested the service with a Wansview W5: unfortunately, the RTSP stream from this camera goes idle after 30s or so and the only way to relaunch it was to launch the Wansview app provided by the supplier to restart the stream. Each camera manufacturer has a slightly different way to implement the RSTP protocol and at this stage, there is no way to let the Panorama appliance ping the camera to wake it up. Check out the manufacturer's documentation to check if your RTSP stream comes with suitable parameter: if not, I would recommend switching to another model (I have been using an Amcrest model and everything worked like a charm).

Hope this helps.

We were trying to use Meraki MV SmartCameras but after PLAY command the first frame is available in 20/30 seconds, after 10 seconds timeout of Panorama. At this time it seems Meraki is not able to fix this. I hope to be able to configure this timeout on Panorama side.
