what i understand from your question is you don't want to get these types of payment issue notifications at your root email address and would prefer to receive them at a different email. Unfortunately, I don't think it is possible as mentioned in point 3 above AWS sends payment notifications to both the billing contact and the root email address.
To stop receiving these notifications at your current root email, you would need to change the root email address to your preferred one. However, please keep in mind that this will change the root email address for your AWS account as well.
Based on the information provided and your current configuration, it appears you have already taken the correct steps to update the billing contact emails. However, there are a few additional points to consider:
-
The changes you've made to the billing contact emails may not take effect immediately. AWS typically uses the latest configuration at the end of the billing cycle, so you might need to wait until the next billing period to see the changes reflected.
-
If you've specified a billing contact on the Payment preferences page (which it seems you have), it's important to note that this can affect invoice delivery. When a billing contact is specified there, the root user won't receive the PDF invoice or additional invoice by email.
-
For payment issue notifications specifically, these are typically sent to the root account user and the alternate billing contact. Ensure that you've updated both of these if you want to change where these notifications are sent.
-
If you're using AWS Organizations, make sure you're making these changes in the management account (payer account) as this controls billing preferences for the organization.
-
If you continue to receive notifications at undesired email addresses after waiting for the next billing cycle, it would be advisable to contact AWS Support. You can open a case under "Account and billing" to inquire about the issue and ensure all necessary changes have been made correctly.
Remember that while you can update these preferences, it's crucial to ensure that important billing and payment notifications are still reaching the appropriate people in your organization.
