A workaround is to login as medialess in your CTI adapter settings, and login to CCP directly as a small window outside of SF that has media control. So that no matter what happens in SF browser page, you call will not be affected. (you basically login to Connect twice, one with media, one without)
Both of these setting can be controlled in https://amazon-connect.github.io/amazon-connect-salesforce-cti/docs/lightning/cti-adapter/01-cti-adapter-configuration/

You can also try medialesspopout, have medialess CHECKED, and add EnableMedialessPopout per instruction, https://amazon-connect.github.io/amazon-connect-salesforce-cti/docs/lightning/cti-adapter/01-cti-adapter-configuration#medialess-popout-ccp
