0

Is this really my fault here while every region which is unlocked for has the free tier eligible instance on the standard credit mode while only the Stockholm has unlimited mode on by default which I used and got a bill even though selected an t3.micro instance which is free tier eligible and no mention about the unlimited mode in the launch instance pate

Hello.

This document states that if you exceed your baseline usage, you may incur charges.
https://docs.aws.amazon.com/AWSEC2/latest/UserGuide/burstable-performance-instances-unlimited-mode.html

If you use a t2.micro or t3.micro instance under the AWS Free Tier offer and use it in unlimited mode, charges might apply if your average utilization over a rolling 24-hour period exceeds the baseline utilization of the instance.

If you have questions about billing, we recommend opening a case with AWS Support under "Account and billing."

  • I'm beginner and I didn't even connected to the instance I used it for about 12-15 mintues checkin if I can connect to it

  • If you could share a detailed image of your invoice, we can better understand how it was used. Please check your bill, as it will also include information such as how many hours it was activated. This is my bill, and the time used is listed as follows. a
We recommend that you contact AWS Support using the URL below. https://support.console.aws.amazon.com/support/home#/case/create

As per Work with burstable performance instances, t3 default is unlimited while t2 is standard

Each burstable performance instance family comes with the following default credit specification:
T4g, T3a and T3 instances launch as unlimited
T3 instances on a Dedicated Host can only launch as standard
    T2 instances launch as standard
You can change the default credit specification for the account.

Do change credit specification as per documentation
