I have a Problem I cannot create a character definition file " Help Please"

0

I have an issue where I cannot create a successful Character definition file in geppetto. No matter what I do the file fails to create correctly and this is my error. Geppetto - Add and Save Failed Failed to put entries/dependencies into source control as the provider is not available. Please If this is not relsolved I cannot create animations in lumberyard at all.

Hi @REDACTEDUSER

REMOVEDUPLOAD

This image shows the red circle with the "x" in it, meaning that the connection to Perforce is disabled. You can click on this icon to enable/disable Perforce, as noted in the documentation here:

https://docs.aws.amazon.com/lumberyard/latest/userguide/setting-up-lumberyard-perforce-plugin.html

As I mentioned, I suspect this is a source control issue due to the error message phrase you used above - "Add and Save Failed Failed to put entries/dependencies into source control as the provider is not available". I hope this helps to solve your issue, please let us know your results or any other steps we might have missed. Thank you!

Hey @REDACTEDUSER

Apologies for the troubles; Geppetto is part of our legacy tools list and is being replaced with EmotionFX, our new Animation system for Lumberyard. We have videos on how to use EMFX to get your animations into and working with Lumberyard here.

Hope this helps :D
