Server is inaccessible. I tried recreating instance, resetting key pairs, and nothing works. Please help!

I've attempted to SSH into my instance with putty, and I always get this message.

PuTTY Fatal Error

No supported authentication methods available (server sent: publickey,gssapi-keyex,gssapi-with-mic)

OK

I tried creating new instances and still can't get in. I tried creating new keys, set the security settings and still nothing.

It's been 4 days and all of my websites are now down. :(

I had to verify my credit card (which I've never had to do before, so that was strange). After verifying it, the problem persisted. I can't even view the public sites. I tried restarting the instance as well. Still no avail.

Please help me.

Hi,

Did you try connecting to EC2 instance through EC2 instance connect from AWS console itself. EC2 Instance Connect Methods

Click on your instance's instance id on EC2 console -> Connect to instance -> EC2 Instance Connect -> Enter User Name(if custom) -> Click Connect

You should be able to get in to your instance from here and get your website up and running first.

  • Thanks for that. I just tried it and I got this message...

Failed to connect to your instance EC2 Instance Connect is unable to connect to your instance. Ensure your instance network settings are configured correctly for EC2 Instance Connect. For more information, see Set up EC2 Instance Connect at https://docs.aws.amazon.com/AWSEC2/latest/UserGuide/ec2-instance-connect-set-up.html.

  • Make sure you have the security group added to EC2 instance, which have the inbound rule for all traffic/all protocol( All All 0.0.0.0/0) temporarily. Once you are in and done with your things, you can limit it to SSH, although you can start trying with SSH/your ip also. Keep me posted, how it goes.

  • Were you able to resolve this?
