Connected Jira to Amazon Q but "No sources" error appears

1

I have connected by Jira instance to Amazon Q, it has synced and the data source is active.

Amazon Q pretends it does not know Jira.

What am I missing?

  • If you ask a question based on the text that is within a ticket can you get answers? Or are you not getting any answers to anything from your jira source?

Hi,

you should provide more details about the index associated to your app: does it contain any doc that the retriever has seen? (it seems that you've sync ok from your screenshot)

Something like this:

  • Thanks for your hint, I've now added a screenshot.

I have been trying this also, got a similar result of "no relevant information". Same with the Github integration.

Web crawling has been the only data source that has worked for me so far.

edit: I verified the retriever has ~7mb of data across ~6200 documents (2k or so from one Github repo, and 4k or so from Jira). The only responses I get are from a single PDF I uploaded separately.

I suggest you check how this guardrail is configured: Limit Q to ingested documents in your enterprise corpus. Q-app-guardrails-rag

also, configure your Data Source "Sync mode" to "New, modified, or deleted content sync" rather than the default of "Full".

  • Randy, thanks for your ideas.

    1. RAG setting is enabled. Disabling it did not provide any changes, still, a "No sources" error appears.
    2. Sync mode - changed from Full to "New, modified, or deleted content sync" without any luck. The same error occurs.

Same happening with the Confluence (cloud) data source. I have 2.5Mb on 621 documents and no matter what I ask, Q can never give me any answer. If I upload a PDF file, it's able to retrieve answers based on it so I believe it must be something related to the way these integrations work.

Edit: Fixed it with help from AWS Support! Just go and disable ACL on the JIRA/Confluence connector. In my case, my AWS account does not use the same user email/id I have on Confluence, so ACL was preventing my AWS user to access the information.
