Lightsail instance inaccessible.

0

I was working on building something in FastAPI, dinking around with changing responses, when I got disconnected. Since then, the server has been completely inaccessible, and I have no idea why. It doesn't respond to ping, cant connect through SSH, nothing. I've rebooted, stopped/started, and it's like it's there but dead.

Metrics just shows it idling, and I was able to take a snapshot, but I'm not sure what I can even do with the snapshot. I've checked other posts, and I don't really have any idea what went wrong. I wasn't messing around with the firewall or anything that should have blocked my access.

  • Created a new instance from snapshot, same behavior.

Trying an export to EC2 to see if I can at least recover unsaved work.

Hi, @Alex Jordan

Unfortunately, Lightsail has limited troubleshooting possibilities as per the following documentation:

You need to export to EC2 for troubleshooting.
If you can't connect after exporting to EC2, try standard EC2 troubleshooting, such as using EC2Rescue.

you might need to migrate the Lightsail server to EC2 for troubleshooting further. This is because troubleshooting options are limited in Lightsail as it is for simpler workloads.
