Hello,
AMD introduced the first 64-bit x86 processor architecture (AMD64), and irrespective of the company manufacturing the processor, 64-bit x86 processor architectures are mostly referred to as amd64.
Where are you seeing the term "amd64"? In general (if you're looking at files with that in the name), amd64
is a generic term to describe 64-bit Intel-compatible CPUs. For a little bit of history, see: https://www.pcmag.com/encyclopedia/term/amd64
So the m4 instance family is Intel based but libraries that you load on it will probably show as "amd64" because the code is compatible with Intel and AMD chips.
Also: Why are you using an m4 instance? They are previous generation instances - you should definitely be looking at m5 or m6 for (probably) better performance.
